Tim leads all strategic growth initiatives for IT ExchangeNet. 

 

From 2005 - 2011, Tim was CEO of Phylogy, a Silicon Valley tech startup offering groundbreaking broadband technology to telephone carriers around the world. By 2010, Phylogy was ranked 243rd on the Inc. 500 list of fastest-growing companies in the United States. The company was acquired by Actelis Networks in March 2011.

In the early 90s, Tim capitalized on the Internet's growing commercial applications as co-founder and CEO of Vantage One Communications, where he and his team accomplished numerous "firsts" by uniting non-linear communications with the untapped muscle of the worldwide web. While at Vantage One, he was named Entrepreneur of the Year by USA TODAY / NASDAQ / Ernst & Young and received the Pillar Award for community service from the Small Business Network. After expanding his firm nationally, martinwolf sold Vantage One in November 1999.

In between Vantage One and Phylogy, Tim turned to public service as Cleveland, Ohio's Deputy Mayor / Chief Development Officer, leading initiatives in city planning, building and housing, and economic development that resulted in over $1 billion of development throughout the region. 

 

A life-long musician, Tim served on the Boards of the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame & Museum (where he Chaired its Technology Committee), DigitalC (a civic tech collaboration in Northeast Ohio), and Union Home Mortgage. He holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of Dayton.

As Marketplace Director, Amanda Haws is instrumental in managing seller engagements and overseeing all operations for IT ExchangeNet. In addition to her operational role, she serves as the Executive Assistant to CEO Tim Mueller, providing invaluable administrative and strategic support.

 

Prior to her role at IT ExchangeNet, Amanda honed her skills at The Riverside Company, a prominent private equity firm managing over $7 billion in assets. There, she provided comprehensive support to a team of 15 private equity professionals specializing in micro-cap investments. Her tenure at The Riverside Company exposed her to the intricacies of private equity transactions, including due diligence, deal structuring, and portfolio management. This experience has equipped her with a deep understanding of the M&A process, particularly within the technology sector.

 

Before joining The Riverside Company, Amanda spent a decade at a Cleveland-area law firm, where she managed complex legal cases and operations. Her responsibilities included overseeing multi-million-dollar settlements, ensuring timely and accurate execution of legal processes. This experience cultivated her strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

 

Amanda's commitment to exceptional customer service is evident in her approach to both internal and external stakeholders. She consistently strives to exceed expectations, providing timely and effective solutions to client inquiries and operational challenges. Her strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with clients have been instrumental in fostering long-lasting relationships and driving business growth.

 

Beyond her professional endeavors, Amanda is actively involved in her community, volunteering for the Cleveland Kids Book Bank and The Edna House, a local non-profit giving women an opportunity to recover from alcohol and drug addiction by providing a safe, sober place to live. 

 

Amanda's diverse background, combined with her strong operational and customer service skills, makes her a valuable asset to IT ExchangeNet. Her knowledge of IT-focused M&A and her ability to navigate complex business environments contribute to the success of the organization.

Marty has been involved in more than 250  IT M&A transactions during the last 26 years, creating over $6 billion in value. In addition to his responsibilities as managing partner and founder of the firm, he actively manages transactions, has been directly involved in the divestiture of eight Fortune 500 divisions, and closed transactions in over 25 countries in the IT Services, IT Supply Chain, and Software space. Marty also acts as counselor and trusted advisor to CEOs of select IT firms. He has advised on take-private strategies and corporate carve-outs, as well as defended firms in hostile tender offers.

 

From 1984-94, Marty served as President of the Franchise and Distribution Division of ComputerLand Corporation, a $1-billion plus franchiser of computer resellers. He became executive vice president at Merisel, the second largest public IT distributor, from 1994-96. While President at martinwolf, Marty founded MergerTech, where he was Chairman from 2009 – 2017.

 

Marty is a recognized influencer in the IT industry and has spoken at several international conferences on M&A in the mid-market technology space. In June 2016 he was a panelist with other senior bankers from seven countries speaking about cross-border M&A at an international investment banking conference hosted by Clairfield International in Amsterdam. He has twice been a keynote speaker at the China International Software and Information Service Fair in Dalian, China, speaking on The China IT Syndrome and “A Perspective on Global IT M&A for Chinese Companies,” respectively. He also gave the keynote address at two conferences sponsored by the Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce (BCIC) in Bangalore. Previously, Marty was the keynote speaker for HP American Partners Conference on the topic “A Wall Street View of The Channel & Channel Partners” in Las Vegas and also spoke for the AmCham Shanghai IT Industry Committee in Shanghai, China.

Marty graduated from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan, and is a FINRA-registered broker.

As Marketplace Director, Joan Cook plays a pivotal role in managing seller engagements at IT ExchangeNet. Her strong development and communication skills, combined with her expertise in project management, enable her to effectively navigate the complexities of the IT marketplace. Joan's ability to build strong relationships and foster growth has been instrumental in driving successful outcomes for both sellers and buyers.

Prior to joining IT ExchangeNet, Joan spent over a decade at the Cleveland Clinic Health System, where she led various leadership, development, and education programs. She spearheaded the Finance Internship Program and managed special projects for the Chief Financial Officer and Executive offices. Additionally, Joan successfully led the Cleveland Clinic Administrative Fellowship Program, growing it into one of the top fellowship programs in the nation. Her experience at the Cleveland Clinic provided her with a deep understanding of organizational development, talent management, and strategic planning.

Before her tenure at the Cleveland Clinic, Joan worked at Phylogy, where she gained valuable insights into the technology industry. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Joan is deeply committed to community service. For over 20 years, she has volunteered at St. Patrick's Hunger Center in Cleveland, where she has made a significant impact on the lives of those in need. In 2002, she initiated a program to provide homemade cookies to the center's clients each month, demonstrating her compassion and dedication to helping others.

Joan's strong work ethic, coupled with her exceptional interpersonal skills, make her a valuable asset to IT ExchangeNet.

Dylan Tober, a recognized Rising Star in M&A by the Smart Business Dealmakers in 2024, brings a wealth of expertise and passion to his role at IT ExchangeNet. As a key member of the team, Dylan is responsible for overseeing the IT ExchangeNet Channel Partners Initiative, driving strategy, marketing, and partner organization efforts. His keen understanding of IT-focused M&A, coupled with his strong customer service orientation, enables him to foster strong relationships with partners and clients alike.

Beyond his strategic role, Dylan is instrumental in managing the data systems for IT ExchangeNet. His technical proficiency and attention to detail ensure the smooth operation of the company's data infrastructure, supporting critical business functions.

Before joining IT ExchangeNet, Dylan attended Miami University, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Entrepreneurship and Strategic Communications, with a minor in General Business. His academic background, combined with his hands-on experience, has equipped him with a solid foundation in business strategy, communication, and innovation.

Dylan's commitment to community service is evident in his volunteer work with the Cleveland Kids Book Bank and The EDNA House for Women. His dedication to giving back reflects his strong sense of social responsibility and desire to make a positive impact on the lives of others.

In his spare time, Dylan enjoys staying active through fitness, traveling, and keeping up with technology. His passion for these areas and more fuels his innovative thinking and drives his commitment to excellence.

Matt Olson brings a wealth of experience and a strong customer-centric approach to his role at IT ExchangeNet. As a key member of the team, Matt is responsible for identifying new business opportunities and developing strategic relationships with potential clients. His deep understanding of IT-focused M&A, coupled with his strong business development skills, enables him to effectively navigate the complex landscape of technology transactions.

Prior to joining IT ExchangeNet, Matt served as the Business Lead for University Hospitals Sports Medicine Institute, where he played a crucial role in business planning, data analysis, and operational process improvement. His experience in healthcare administration provided him with valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities in the industry, particularly in terms of technology adoption and strategic partnerships.

More recently, Matt worked at Rocket Mortgage as a Senior Mortgage Loan Originator, guiding clients through the complexities of home refinancing. This experience honed his customer service skills and gave him a deep understanding of the financial needs of individuals and families.

In his free time, Matt enjoys the thrill of sailboat racing on the Great Lakes and the peaceful pursuit of steelhead fishing in local rivers. These hobbies reflect his adventurous spirit and his appreciation for the natural world. Matt holds a Bachelor's degree in Health Services Administration and a Business Minor from Ohio University. His academic background, combined with his practical experience, provides him with a solid foundation for success in the dynamic world of technology and business.
